Take Me OUT to the Ballgame!
The Lesbian & Gay Big Apple Corps is making history again! On August 13th, the marching band is scheduled to perform at the NY Mets’ LGBT night – the FIRST LGBT night for any New York professional sports team! In addition, the LGBAC could be given the honor of performing the National Anthem at the opening of the game!
But first, WE NEED YOU!
The Lesbian & Gay Big Apple Corps needs to sell 350 tickets by July 15th. The event organizers have us in their grand vision, but as we’ve found out, it’s standard practice for many major league teams to require group performers to sell tickets. Performing members are required to purchase tickets to participate as well, and those tickets will count toward our 350 ticket goal.
Here’s how you can help!
Purchase your tickets to the game now to see the Lesbian & Gay Big Apple Corps perform in the Mets’ LGBT night festivities and possibly play The Star Spangled Banner on the field. For only $40, you’ll have a seat for the game in the band’s section, where you can share the peanuts, Cracker Jack, and excitement with us!
Not able to come to the game? Don’t live in the area? Buying a ticket but still want to help? No problem! We are also accepting donations which will be used to help members who need assistance purchasing their tickets.
