DCDD’s free community band concert and food drive on December 11thin Washington, D.C
You are invited to attend DCDD’s free community band concert and food drive on December 11thin Washington, D.C., and greatly hope you can forward this information to all your members.
The concert will take place on December 11th, 3:00 p.m. at the Lutheran Church of the Reformation in D.C.’s Capitol Hill neighborhood (212 E. Capitol Street, NW, Washington, D.C.). Our Capital Pride Symphonic Band will be playing numerous selections, including classic concert arrangements such as ‘Sleigh Ride’ and selections from ‘the Nutcracker Suite,’ and more modern pieces like ‘Minor Alterations’ and John Lennon’s ‘Happy Xmas (War is Over).’ We’ll also proudly feature several of our small ensembles, for a night of numerous musical styles in celebration of the holiday season.
In addition to the concert, D.C.’s Different Drummers will be collecting donations for Food and Friends, a D.C. non-profit organization providing prepared and delivered specialized meals and groceries in conjunction with nutrition counseling for people living with HIV/AIDS, cancer, and other lift-threatening illnesses. Community organizations like D.C.’s Different Drummers cannot succeed without the support of our community partners. You and your readers are more than welcome to come to our December 11th concert and food drive.
