LGBA ANNUAL CONFERENCE RECAP
Hello LGBA Family,
Our 2016 Annual Conference is ended and it was fantastic. Desert Winds did an amazing job seeing to each and every detail. More than 300 musicians in 2 band performed for a packed house – 1100 seats filled! – and we even had Cindy Williams as one of the co-hosts. Conference co-chairs Gary Moline and Bob Montooth worked non-stop and I don’t know where they got the energy. Thank you for a very memorable weekend.
I would like to report on some of the highlights from the conference delegate assembly. New board members were elected, bands were recognized and the 2018 conference host was determined.
I want to welcome returning board members Eddie Young, Tim Yanok, Blake Velde, Gwen Marie Lerch, Robert Gamboa, and Melissa Terrell as Members At Large. Brandon Gray, from Atlanta Freedom Bands, was elected to the board as a Member at Large. Cliff Norris was re-elected as Vice President of the Board and we welcome Matthew Novotny as the new Treasurer. I look forward to working with this very energized board. Our next meeting is November 18, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. If you would like to join the meeting, please email me at email@example.com so an invite to WebEx can be sent to you.
We recognized Orlando’s Central Florida Sounds of Freedom Band and Color Guard for their courage and insightfulness during the Pulse tragedy.
The 2018 Annual Conference bids were presented by Mile High Freedom Band and Mid-America Freedom Band. Both bids were excellent and the presentations at the Delegate Assembly were outstanding. LGBA will descending upon Kansas City over Memorial Day Weekend 2018. Congratulations to Mid-America Freedom Band and job well done to Mile High Freedom Band. Thanks for making the conference bids competitive for the 2nd year in a row.
I’m so excited about this next year in LGBA. Thank you for your interest and participation.
